The An-74 Coaler appears to be a remake
of the Antonov 72. The Antonov 74 is specifically designed
to be used in Arctic operations. The high mounted engines allow operation
on ice and snow strips without ingesting ice and snow from the runways.
This is a STOL transport powered by two D-36 engines developing 16,535
lbs. of thrust. These engines are produced by Lotarev.
Max payload of 16,535 lbs. and max take-off weight is 66,140 lbs.
The best I can do here is to give you the specs for the An-72 which we sometimes see on the North Pole. Wing span 84' 9", Length 87' 2 1/4 ", Height 27', Wing area is 969 sq. ft. Max Payload 22,045 lbs., Max Take-Off weight from 3,200' runway 58,420 lbs., 3,935' runway 67,240, 4,925' runway 72,750 lbs. Max speed 410 kts 472 mph, Cruising speed 388 kts 447 mph, Landing speed 89 kts 103 mph, Max range with 30 min reserve at max gross weight 620 miles, Range with max fuel 30 min reserve 2,360 miles. |
