We have finally landed in Siberia. We came here in a Tu-134 which was very similar to the U.S. C-9. As we landed you could see large commercial aircraft completely buried in the snow with their tails and noses sticking out of the drifts. Norilsk is a large city in Northern Siberia, Russia, with a population of about 300,000 people. The city is the location of a large nickel mine. To the far left is the terminal building which includes a snack bar and gift shop which sells a lot of reindeer antler art. |
