| In the left seat of this photo is Anand Aithal and
in the right seat is Max Dillinger. We took this plane from Norilsk
to Khatanga in Northern Siberia, Russia. You can see that everyone was on
a natural high and we were letting everything go crazy.
This is an An-24 Coke. The An-24 was produced by the Russian Soviet Government until 1978 with about 1100 of these aircraft being produced until this time. Later production of this aircraft was licensed to China and produced as the Y-7 or Yun-7. Wingspan 95' 11 1/2", Length 77' 9 1/2" height 28' 1", Wing Area 807 sq ft., Empty operating weight 31,383 lbs., Max fuel 10,582 lbs., Max fuel at Gross weight 8,818 lbs., Max payload 10,362 lbs. Max takeoff weight 46,295 lbs., Max landing weight 48,500 lbs. Cruising speed 248 kts. Typical range with 48 passengers 1,180 miles, 1,025 nm, 1,900 km. |
