Airco DH.10 Twin Engine Bomber Model Airplanes
1916 Bomber The first prototypes were flown on Marth 4th 1918 and were powered by two 230 horsepower Siddeley Puma engines used as pusher props. This prototype only reached 90 mph at 15,000 feet with the specified bomb load. Since the DH.10 did not meet the specifications they built a second prototype using two 360 hp Rolls-Royce Eagle VIII engines and first flew in April of 1918. This prototype was called the Amiens Mark II. The DH.10s were sent to RAF Squadron number 104 in November of 1918 and since the war soon ended, they flew a single bombing mission on November 1918. After the war they were used as air mail service to the British Army for the occupation on the Rhine river. |

Bristol F.2 WW1 Model Airplanes
From early in 1917 until the end of the war the Royal Flying Corps had, in the form of the Bristol F.2B an agile fighter for use over France. The solid bi-plane construction soon proved to be a big success and the success rate increased in direct proportion to pilot experience. Fitted with the Rolls-Royce 275 hp Falcon III engine, the pilot had a forward firing 7.7 mm Vickers MG and the Observer a rotating Lewis Gun of the same caliber. A total of around 5329 of these aircraft were built. The F.2B remained in service with many Air Forces until as late as 1930.
