The wing is placed onto the fuselage. Here you can see the wing tip folded. This is typical of all Navy aircraft. The wings fold to allow the storage of these aircraft on the crowded aircraft carrier where space is very limited. Looking closer at the wing you will see three "things" attached to the underside of the wings. These are called wing pylons and are used to hold bombs, missiles, extra fuel tanks or special electronics packages.
