 The green bark on these trees in Alaska really stand out.  Does the green bark actually take part in the photosynthesis process?  The trees in this part of Alaska were very small, almost like they were actually bushes.

Click on the picture for a larger view of the green bark of these trees in Alaska.  I just wish there was more time for this trip.  I wanted to take a much closer look at the trees in this area on the Alaskan Highway 1.  The trees were like bushes.  There were no main trunks and the bark was very green almost like the bark itself converted sunlight in the photosynthesis process.  Do green bark trees actually have photosynthesis?  If you know, let me know at the bottom of this page.
