These sailors are catching the first line used in the refueling process from carrier to destroyer.Once a ship comes along side the Kitty Hawk for refueling, a series of cables are brought from ship to ship until the fuel hose is connected. The first line is launched from the Kitty Hawk by a man with what looks like a shotgun. In this refueling event it three times before the crew on the other deck caught the line. |
