One of our
Navy Destroyers approaches the
carrier getting ready for refueling.
This destroyer is the USS Sample
DD 1048.
It is one of the Navy Ships that was in our task force.
Usually all of the ships are out of sight of each other and on the days
of the Un-Reps (Underway Replenishments) we get a great chance to see them
close up.
Look at the fencing held out from the deck of the Kitty Hawk, right next to the men, by all of those pipes, This fencing is designed to prevent people from falling off of the deck. This fencing is placed all around the deck, where practical. |
