It turns out that I have both Ernie Pyle and Eddie Saboo pictures mixed into a single exhibit, but it has some great pictures, the absolute best that I've seen of Ernie Pyle, and pictures of Eddie Saboo, Championship Wrestler and Judo Instructor in WW2. There is also a lot of great information and links to even more information about, both, Ernie Pyle and Eddie Saboo. ... in the Pacific Ocean on the Island of Iwo Jima; during the Okinawa campaign Ernie Pyle, War Correspondent, visited the nearby island of Ie Shima, where he was killed at the age of 44 by Japanese machine-gun fire. Just recently I found out that the real name of Iwo Jima is actually Iwo To. The natives there are requesting that the name should be returned to the original Iwo To since it was mistakenly named Iwo Jima by a Japanese officer in WW2 and that name stuck to this very same day.
