| Using
Models to Teach Your Kids about Airplanes
Tabby puts the finishing touches on her model
When we first tried this experiment we found that most of the kids
never seen decals, at least the ones that you soak in water before you
put them where you wanted. These kids took all of their extra
decals, decals that were for different versions and put them in a box for
future projects. It was interesting to watch how they put these decals
on their custom versions of their models. These types of thought
patterns are what makes a kid smart.
About every ten years, "Scientific American Magazine" does a comparison
study on the education of kids from many countries. When asked the
simple question, "What do you want?" The eight year old kids from
China said that they wanted a degree, they wanted to be engineers.
The eight year old kids in Chicago said that they wanted toys.
Giving our kids more and having a better life than we had, as the idea
of Future Preference states, doesn't mean giving our kids more stuff,
it means giving our kids more knowledge, better knowledge.
Building models is a building block to a better future. |
