Picture of Soldiers Sitting in a WW2 Bomb Shelter on Ie Shima.

This is a much stronger shelter.  It appears that each group
of men had their own variation on the bomb shelters,
probably next to their work sites.

These soldiers are sitting in a bomb shelter on the island of Ie Shima.  The shelter
is built in a trench, reinforced with heavy timber and covered with sand bags.
This is very good protection against bombs from Japanese Aircraft with the
exception of a direct hit.
