War creates unusual circumstances.  I was a teenager and ineligible to lawfully purchase beer only two months before my graduation to officer status.  As a military officer, I was delegated the responsibility of commanding and protecting the lives of other men, yet I remained ineligible to lawfully purchase beer until I turned 21 years of age.  Fortunately, military Officer's Clubs ignored this law.
