The Bloomington Airshow7-8-2000
 This
is the cockpit of a Boeing 727 one of Federal Express' cargo planes which
was at the Bloomington airshow. the kids had a chance to take a good
look at the outside of the airplane then they took a tour through the airplane.
The Federal Express company provided posters and small photos which these
kids placed on their walls after they got home. After an air show,
kids are super excited about what they have seen. They tell their
friends, they place posters on their walls and they live, eat, breathe
and drink airplanes for a couple of weeks. Planes become a topic
in the Public housing development where we are testing this Y-I-BET program.
When other kids visit our members, they see airplane posters and models
all around their rooms. They too become indoctrinated into airplanes
and technology. With this program, even the kids who don't have a
chance to go on our field trips are being trained in technology.
It really makes a difference. |
