Powder coating your
Pitts airframe is a very good way to go.
The Powder Coating is both durable and rust resistant.
Okay, next thing, fuselage ready to be painted or powder coated – I went with the powder coat and am very happy with the finish. The morning I was to take the fuselage to be coated, I was running late. Before I knew it, it was lunchtime. After lunch I walked down to get the mail and had a letter from Aviat. My first thought was I didn’t pay one of my bills. The letter informed me of an AD for the lower wing mounts to be increased in the material thickness. I unloaded the fuselage and waited till Monday to call them. They filled me in on the reason to increase this wing mount, so I made the changes and marked them on the prints. Rescheduled the powder coating and took it in the next weekend. |
