This is a picture of gun used for protection against polar bears.  As global warming advances and the polar ice cap continues to have more and more open water, the polar bears move farther and farther north.  When there's open water there are seals and that's what the polar bears like.  It is now necessary to carry a gun when you are traveling on the north pole.
