North Pole Marathon Wolfgang Schwarzaeugl 

   Although Wolfgang admits that his favorite sport is
   mountaineering, he is certainly no novice at extreme adventure
   running challenges. His running CV includes such notable races as
   the Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert, the Mount Everest
   Marathon in Nepal, the Comrades Marathon in South Africa and
   the Antarctica Marathon on King George Island. He has also
   climbed numerous mountains in native Austria, France, Italy and
   Switzerland, including Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa.

   Wolfgang’s combined climbing and adventure running experiences
   have helped to prepare him both physically and mentally for the
   North Pole Marathon. “I have learned to live with cold, heat and
   discomfort and not get uptight about it. One of my big dreams is
   to run the North Pole Marathon in my best physical and mental
   shape and to reach that elusive finish line”.

   Wolfgang resides in Vienna, “one of the world’s most beautiful
   capitals”, and enjoys the prospect of being a world traveler. He
   normally organizes most of his own adventure activities without
   the aid of sponsorship.

   We welcome Wolfgang Schwarzaeugl to the North Pole Marathon
   as a new breed of Arctic explorer.
