Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence? Carter Braxton of Virginia,
a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by
the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his
debts, and died in rags.
Thomas McKean was so hounded
by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly.
He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in
hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty
was his reward. Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery,
Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.
At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas
Nelson Jr, noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over
the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George
Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson
died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and
properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died
within a few months.
John Hart was driven from
his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children
fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid
to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves,
returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.
A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a broken heart.
Norris and Livingston suffered
similar fates. Such were the stories and sacrifices of
the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing
ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education.
They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall,
straight, and unwavering, they pledged: "For the support of this
declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of divine providence,
we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our
sacred honor."
They gave you and me a free and
independent America. The history books never told you a lot
about what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn't fight
just the British. We were British subjects at that time and
we fought our own government! Some of us take these liberties so
much for granted, but we shouldn't. So, take a few minutes this year
while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank
these patriots. It's not much to ask for the they paid.
Remember: freedom is never free!
It's time we get the word
out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more
to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.

From the webmaster:
When I joined the Navy I took an oath to fight all enemies both foreign and domestic, yes, domestic. We have enemies that plan forty and fifty years ahead to see the accomplishment of their goals. This is a slow war, but a war never the less. A slow war does not use guns, it uses psychological warfare: media forms like Television, Radio, Music, Magazines and Newspapers. Carl Marx, the father of communism, the author of the book, the Communist Manifesto, said it real plainly. He said that he can take a democratic country and make it pay for the rope to kill itself. How do you do that? You get the kids interested in sex, drugs and useless things. You break up the families.Just look at TV today. Watch a cartoon program called PJ's or the 70's show. Both of these programs are totally filthy and PJ's is a complete series designed to get your kids indoctrinated in drugs and low class ideas. Watch these, I'm not kidding. This war is not limited to just these programs, almost every program on prime time is designed to do the same thing. This is the back door to our minds. These enemies know that kids watch these programs again and again with total interest above that which is taught in any school. There are also organizations that use legal and financial muscle to drive anything good out of our schools and force filth on our programs hiding behind the idea of Freedom of Speech. We all need to look back into history and see what these men had in their minds when they wrote the Declaration of Independence. In those days General Washington would flog his men for using foul language. Filth was not part of the idea of Freedom of Speech. Freedom of Speech was designed to allow a person or group to speak against the government when they didn't agree with the governments policies. Now having a picture of Jesus in a bottle of urine is freedom of speech. But just having a picture of Jesus is considered separation of church and state. Now having a sweat shirt with Satan on it is freedom of speech. But having a shirt with the words Jesus or God on are not allowed in school and you and your school will be sued. Now you have the right to say anything to anyone, anytime, but you better not say God or Jesus or you are un-cool and you will be sued. Do you think you have more freedom today or more problems? Are our kids better off or are they killing each other in the schools? Are you safer walking down the street? Are your kids on drugs? Is your daughter pregnant at fourteen? Are our families still together? Do you know who your dad is? Watch those programs listed above, then watch the news, then look outside and listen what the kids are talking about, then look at those programs again.

What can we do to reverse the
process? Write letters to the TV stations,
Radio Stations and be sure to write to the advertisers who advertise on
those programs and tell them that you will stop buying their products if
they don't stop advertising on these programs or any programs like them.

From Our Readers:
Subject: 4th of July letterHello,I believe that we have had conversations before. I am a Skybolt builder and have enjoyed you site many times. I read your letter regarding our veterans and modern day television. I would have to say that I agree with you. Our family has essentially quit watching mainstream TV. We have a satellite system and watch a lot of Discovery Channel and the likes. We're better off for it. Over the last few years, I have spent quite a bit of time with the youth in our neighborhood and have discovered one fact: "Kids are not born bad, they are created by their environment" This would include, home life, school life, and the neighborhood that they live in, and for them to be good does not always have to be accompanied by God. I have worked with kids from all backgrounds and have found that many in trouble just need someone to actually care about them and listen. I have always said that if you want to see the future, spend time with a child It is in this that I became appalled at the attacks on the Boy Scouts of America and other organizations like it. Granted some of these institutions need to be monitored in order that the "process" is not staggered by "progress". In other words, the mission is the kids and not the money. It's hard to convince people of that and money is a necessary evil in these organizations. The old adage, "The idle hands do the devils work", certainly plays out with kids. If you keep them involved and interested in the world outside of their environment their minds won't have time to develop plans to acquire smoke bombs for the boys room. I'm not knocking the need for religion in children's lives as it can help to make the effects of the good work last and helps kids, especially teenagers, to maintain focus. Keep up the good work and visit my site sometime: Our plane of the month for this month is the T-28B Trojan! What a cool machine...... Regards, Seth |
