From the Webmaster: I am now finding out that the crosses on the Betty Bombers were actually painted Green. |
The Japanese Betty Bomber is a beautiful plane. Its red crosses say, don't shoot us down, we surrender. Other sources say that the crosses were green, I'm sorry that I don't have a color picture of the airplane. This plane had bullet holes in the fuselage and wing tanks making fuel consumption more than expected. The second Betty Bomber crashed on landing on Ie Shima and became stuck in the mud and was never flown again. |
